Spring lessons start April 5th.

Ironwood Farm Summer Riding Camp Returns! Each session is 2 weeks long. Camp Dates: June 16- 27, July 7- 18, July 21- August 1. There will be a special camp for more advanced students who want to participate in the Fjord Horse Show at Frying Pan Park on August 17th (August 4- 15, and then horse show on the 17th*) Cost per camper/session $450. Register through Culpeper County Parks & Rec.

*Cost of classes are responsibility for student. Student has own horse and coaching for the day of the show.

Blitzen earns his “V” - Our stallion, Ironwood Blitzen, has just completed his Norwegian Fjord Horse Versatility Award qualifications. This NFHR award recognizes Fjord who have performed to high standards in riding, driving and draft work. Blitzen has blue ribbons from NFHR evaluations in driving (2006) and draft (2007). He recently added a blue ribbon in Training 2 at the Cedar Run Dressage Show Series. He scored a 67.5 in a class of 11. We are very proud of him!

2008 Foals We are expecting 3 new foals in 2008; Helle in late May, Madellin in late July and Elli in mid-September. We will hold our annual gender prediction contest for boarders and lesson students later this year.

Ironwood Farm Horse Show -- Our show for our lesson students and boarders will be held on Saturday, June 7th with Sunday, June 8th as the rain date. 

NFHR Evaluation - A breed evaluation will be held at Frying Pan Park, Herndon, VA on August 16th.

Fjord Horse Show - A breed horse show will be held at Frying Park Park, Herndon, VA on August 17th.

Virginia Draft Horse and Mule Show - Our Fjords will be showing at Commonwealth Park, Culpeper, VA on September 6.
